Types of Wire Rope Socket Fittings
We are providing two primary types of socket terminations to meet diverse application needs, providing an efficient connection every time. Our assemblies can be fabricated to tight length tolerances to meet your design requirements.
Swaged Sockets (Swage Socket Assemblies)
Swage sockets are pressed onto the wire rope with heavy dies, forming a permanent metal-to-metal fit. They have a slim profile that works well in tight spaces. These are often paired with 6x19 or 6x37 class ropes and are fabricated in-house by trained technicians.
Spelter Sockets (Poured Socket Assemblies)
Spelter sockets are made by pouring molten zinc or resin into the socket basket around the broomed rope end. This method works with nearly any rope type and provides a long-lasting termination that uses the rope’s full strength.
