Types of Round Slings
At Holloway Houston, we don’t just offer round slings — we stock what crews use. That means two types that cover most rigging setups: Endless Round Slings and Eye & Eye Round Slings. Both are built from tough polyester yarns, soft enough to protect loads and strong enough for daily use. These round slings are designed to efficiently handle typical heavy loads such as heavy valves, prefab assemblies, and structural steel, offering flexibility for a wide range of lifting tasks
- Endless Round Slings: These slings feature a continuous loop design that offers flexibility for multiple hitch types, including vertical, choker, and basket configurations. The endless loop rotates wear points with each use, extending the sling's lifespan.
- Eye & Eye Round Slings: Designed with reinforced loops at both ends, these slings simplify connections to hooks, shackles, and other rigging hardware. They are ideal for applications requiring quick setup and secure attachment.
Key Features
- Working Load Limits That Fit the Job: We stock round slings rated from 2,600 to 13,200+ lbs. Whether you're lifting small parts or large assemblies, there's a size that fits without overdoing it.
- Color-Coded for Quick Pickups: Each sling is tied to its capacity in a distinct color—no second-guessing in the yard or on-site. Key details like WLL, length, and safety information are also stitched into tags.
- Lengths from 18" to Over 150 Feet: Available in a wide range of lengths to match your lift — from compact setups to extended reaches. Slings are measured from one bearing point to the other for precise fit.
- Meets Industry Standards: All our round slings are made to match ASME B30.9 and WSTDA specs, so you can use them with confidence on projects that call for code compliance.
- Custom-Built When You Need It: Do you have a lift plan with odd angles, long reaches, or specific length needs? We make slings in custom sizes and configurations and keep lead times tight.

Applications
- Construction Sites: Perfect for lifting structural components or heavy machinery while protecting surfaces from scratches or marring.
- Industrial Warehousing: Used for moving equipment or goods safely in storage facilities.
- Oil & Gas Operations: Ideal for handling pipelines or drilling equipment under challenging conditions.
- Shipping & Logistics: Make sure secure lifting of fragile or irregularly shaped loads during transport.
How Holloway Houston Stands Out
Unlike competitors’ polyester slings and synthetic slings, Holloway Houston offers several unique benefits:
- Made in Houston, TX: All slings are manufactured locally, providing faster delivery times and strict quality control at every step of production.
- Rigorous Testing: Each sling undergoes proof testing to twice its Working Load Limit (WLL) before being shipped to customers, guaranteeing safety and performance.
- Expert Support: With decades of experience in the rigging industry, Holloway Houston provides personalized consultations to help customers select the right sling for their needs.

Storage & Maintenance
Keeping your round slings in good shape comes down to how you store, check, and handle them between lifts.
- Store Smart: Keep slings off the ground and away from direct sunlight, chemicals, moisture, or sharp surfaces. WSTDA recommends a cool, dry, and ventilated space.
- Inspect Before Every Use: As per ASME B30.9, slings should be checked for cuts, snags, burns, broken stitching, and missing tags. Remove from service if any issues are found.
- Protect at Contact Points: When working around corners, edges, or abrasive loads, use sleeves or edge guards to reduce friction and help prevent wear. This helps reduce wear and aligns (WSTDA-RS1 Section 4.3).
- Hang or Rack When Not in Use (WSTDA-RS1): Avoid piling slings in bins. Hanging them or using designated sling racks helps keep their shape and makes inspections easier.
Technical Specifications
At Holloway Houston, our round slings are built for crews who work in real-world conditions — where rigging setups aren’t always perfect, and every lift counts. That’s why each sling is designed with high-contact rigging efficiency (HCRE), well-balanced D/d ratios, and accurate ratings that match the job.
Every sling is labeled with key specs, including:
- Vertical, choker, and basket Working Load Limits (WLL)
- Sling diameter and body circumference
- Material type and construction
- Unique ID tags for easy tracking
Lengths range from 18 inches to over 150 feet, depending on the required capacity. Sling length is measured from bearing point to bearing point — so you get an exact fit for your lift.
