Holloway Houston 3 part wire rope slings are designed for heavy-duty lifting applications where strength, stability, and precision are critical. Constructed from braided Extra Improved Plow (EIP) steel, each sling features an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) for superior resistance to crushing and abrasion. The number of strands in the braid, three, provides a balance between flexibility, handling, and load capacity, making these slings suitable for a wide range of industrial, offshore, and construction lifts.
Design and Materials
Each 3 Part wire rope sling is made by weaving three individual strands of EIP steel around an IWRC core. This design distributes load evenly across the sling, minimizing rotation and wear.

Wide braided profile spreads weight, helping prevent surface damage to painted, polished, or sensitive loads.
Braided design adjusts to the contours of the load while remaining easier to handle than a single rope of the same capacity.
Each sling comes with a metal tag showing WLL for all hitch types, length, and a serial number for OSHA and ASME compliance.
Routine inspections are important to maintain the safety and working performance of 3 Part wire rope slings. Before every lift, examine the sling for broken wires, corrosion, crushed strands, or deformation in the rope and fittings. Check the eye terminations for any looseness or wear. Avoid using slings that have been exposed to sharp edges, excessive heat, or chemicals that can damage the metal. Regular lubrication helps minimize internal friction, improving flexibility and extending service life. When not in use, store slings in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight or moisture. Any sling that has been overloaded, shock-loaded, or subjected to extreme conditions should be removed from service and inspected or recertified before use.

All 3 Part Wire Rope Slings are produced in-house at Holloway Houston, ensuring consistent quality, precision, and performance. Each sling is designed for balanced lifting and smooth load handling.
Manufactured entirely at our facility, each 3-part sling is carefully assembled to provide uniform strength and flexibility for multiple lifting applications.
Constructed from EIPS wire rope with IWRC cores, these slings maintain stable load control and extended service life, suitable for rugged field operations.
Every sling is proof-tested and inspected to meet ASME B30.9 and OSHA 1910.184 standards, verifying capacity and safety before release.
Each assembly includes serial identification and documentation for full traceability, including proof-test records and material certifications.
Selecting the right 3 Part wire rope sling begins with understanding the type of load, lifting configuration, and operating environment. The correct diameter and length should be chosen based on the load’s weight, balance, and shape to maintain control during lifting. Always verify sling angles, hitch type, and hardware compatibility to prevent loss of capacity. Environmental factors such as humidity, salt exposure, and temperature can affect wire performance, so material and coating choices should align with site conditions. Using proof-tested and certified slings helps maintain safety and compliance with ASME and OSHA standards. Accurate sling selection not only supports safe lifting but also reduces wear, increases service life, and improves overall lifting efficiency.

3 Part wire rope slings are widely used in industrial and offshore settings, particularly for lifting loads that require stability and minimal rotation. Common applications include:
