DNV Certification
Holloway Houston is proud to have contributed to the first DNV project in the United States. Through our long-established relationship with DNV (Det Norske Veritas), Holloway Houston presently fabricates over 90% of the DNV slings built in the Western Hemisphere. We perform most of the DNV witnessed pull testing on pad eyes and other weldments, synthetics, and umbilicals of various types. DNV surveyors are on site at Holloway at most given times.
We understand how important it is for our clients to carry out safe operations at their sites. Holloway Houston, Inc. has DNV 2.7-1 and DNV 2.7-3 type approval certification from DNV. With us in your corner, you’ll never have to worry about any safety aspects.
Carrying the DNV certification means our products are in proper compliance with national and international standards. The DNV certification programs we provide enable high-level quality performance that is in accordance with customer requirements.
DNV Certification Programs
DNV is an independent agency that ensures assurance and risk management with a view to safeguarding life, property, and the environment at industrial work sites.
Having the latest DNV certification is a promise to our clients – we’re committed to the causes of safety and performance. This reflects in our processes as well as products.
Our quality management program has been certified to the ISO 9001, API Specification Q1, ISO/TS 29001 Standards since October 31, 2005. We’ve recently been re-certified to the new ISO 9001 quality management system. Further, we’re the first API Specification Q1 and Quality Plus sling shop in the United States.

To support DNV requirements, Holloway has programs that design the DNV slings and prepare the DNV engineering submission. In most cases, there is no charge for this service.

Testing Options and Capabilities We Provide
Holloway Houston Inc. has all of your DNV load test requirements covered. Our world-class testing facility enables us to provide a broad range of services. This includes testing, technical services, weighing, fabrication, inspection & repair, and DNV certification services.

With more than 13 test beds and hundreds of Load Cells and Links available on site, Holloway Houston’s Testing Services department offers an array of testing options with the following capabilities:
- Rapid, high-load capacity cycling
- Capacities to 5,000 m tonnes.
- Testbed lengths through 400 feet (122 m).
- Real-time charting.
- Video capture of tests.
- Remote viewing of testing using a live stream via HHI Live.
