Quad Leg Chain Slings are used to attach a load to a hoist or crane hook for lifting, and are selected based on the load's weight, shape, and the rigging configuration (single, double, or multi-leg) needed to lift it safely.
As the angle between the sling legs and vertical increases, the load on each leg increases even though the total load stays the same. Always calculate the actual leg tension at the working angle rather than relying on the vertical-rated WLL.
Working load limit depends on the sling's material, construction, and leg configuration, and is shown on the sling's tag. The rated capacity differs significantly between vertical, choker, and basket hitches — confirm which applies to your rigging.
Inspect for cuts, abrasion, broken stitching or wires, corrosion, and tag legibility before every use, in addition to periodic documented inspection. Remove the sling from service immediately if any of the manufacturer's removal criteria are met.
