Turnbuckle Jaw Ends
A turnbuckle assembly is only as strong as its end fittings. Turnbuckle Jaw Ends are the preferred termination for connecting to fixed anchor points, such as pad eyes, lifting lugs, or hoist rings. Unlike an "Eye" end which is permanent, the "Jaw" (Clevis) end features a removable bolt and nut, allowing for easy installation and disconnection without cutting or altering the mating hardware.

The Industry Standard for Turnbuckle Fittings The products in this category are Crosby HG-4037 Jaw Ends. They are forged from high-carbon steel and finished with a hot-dip galvanization for superior corrosion resistance.
- Quenched & Tempered : Like all premium Crosby hardware, these fittings are heat-treated to ensure ductility. In an overload situation, they will deform before breaking, providing a visual warning.
- Fatigue Rated : Engineered to withstand the cyclic loading often found in guying, towing, and suspension applications.
- Secured Connection : Each Jaw End comes complete with a bolt and nut. For critical applications, the bolt is drilled to accept a cotter pin (included), ensuring the nut cannot back off due to vibration.
Understanding Thread Direction
Turnbuckles work by rotating a central body to draw two end fittings together. This requires one end to be Right-Hand (RH) threaded and the other to be Left-Hand (LH) threaded.

Turnbuckle Jaw Ends are used to adjust the length and tension of a rigging or guying assembly, allowing fine adjustment after the main lift or installation is in place.
Common configurations include jaw-and-jaw, jaw-and-eye, and hook-and-hook, each suited to different connection hardware on either end of the assembly. Choose the configuration that matches the pins, shackles, or eyes already in the rigging.
Working load limit depends on the thread diameter and body style and is stamped on the part. Never exceed the rated capacity, and ensure adequate thread engagement is maintained at both ends.
Inspect threads for wear, galling, or corrosion, and confirm the locknuts (where fitted) are secure before each use. A turnbuckle with visibly reduced thread engagement or a bent body should be removed from service.
