Easy Lock Shackles are connecting rigging hardware used to join a sling, chain, or wire rope to a load, hook, or lifting fixture. The pin or bolt is removable, allowing the shackle to be attached and detached without cutting or splicing the rigging.
Working load limit is stamped on the body of every shackle and varies by size and pin style. Always rig to the marked WLL of the smallest-rated component in the assembly, and never exceed it.
Match the shackle's rated capacity to the calculated load, accounting for sling angle and the number of legs sharing the load. Also confirm the pin diameter fits the eye of the sling or fitting it will connect to, since an undersized pin can bend or work loose under load.
Shackles should be visually inspected before each use for bending, pin thread wear, cracks, or corrosion, with a documented periodic inspection performed at defined intervals. Remove from service immediately if the body or pin shows any deformation.
