Connecting Links are used to join sling legs to a hook or crane attachment point, or to connect lengths of chain, distributing load evenly across multiple legs of a rigging assembly.
Size the link to match the chain or sling diameter it will carry and the number of legs it needs to gather, since an undersized link can create pinch points or uneven loading between legs.
Working load limit depends on the link's material grade and dimensions and is stamped on the part. Confirm the WLL of the link is equal to or greater than the combined rated capacity of the legs it connects.
Inspect before each use for wear at bearing points, stretching, nicks, gouges, or corrosion, with periodic inspection at documented intervals. Retire the link if wear exceeds the manufacturer's allowable reduction in cross-section.
