Swivel Lifting Points

Standard fixed eyebolts have a fatal flaw: if the load rotates or is lifted at an angle, the eyebolt can unscrew or bend, leading to catastrophic failure. Swivel Lifting Points eliminate this risk. Engineered with a ball-bearing or bushing system, these attachment points rotate 360° and pivot 180° to align perfectly with the direction of the pull. This ensures the full Working Load Limit (WLL) is maintained regardless of the lift angle.

Swivel Lifting Points

Holloway Houston stocks a specialized inventory of Cromox Grade 60 Stainless Steel lifting points for corrosion-critical environments, alongside high-capacity Yoke alloy points for heavy lifting. Whether you are rigging in a pharmaceutical clean room, an offshore deck, or a heavy fabrication shop, we have the certified anchorage points you need.

Product Spotlight : Cromox Grade 60 Stainless

Corrosion Resistance Meets Lifting Strength The majority of our inventory features the Cromox CDAW and CDS Series. Manufactured in Germany from AISI 316L (1.4404) stainless steel, these points are designed for environments where standard carbon steel hoist rings would rust or contaminate the workspace.

  • CDAW Swivel Lifting Point : The flagship model. It swivels 360° and the bail pivots 180°. Ideal for turning and flipping loads.
    • WLL Range : 1,100 lbs to 22,040 lbs.
    • Applications : Offshore salt-spray zones, chemical wash-down areas, and subsea lifting.
  • CDS Swivel Lifting Eye Screw : A compact, rotating eye bolt alternative. Ideal for tight spaces where a full hoist ring profile doesn't fit.
    • PSA Variant : Select models (CDS-PSA) are certified for Personal Fall Protection (Personnel Safety Anchor), creating a secure tie-off point for safety harnesses.

Product Spotlight : Yoke Heavy Duty

For massive loads requiring alloy steel strength, we stock Yoke Swivel Points.

  • Model 8-271 : Featured in our inventory with massive capacities (e.g., 40 Ton WLL with M72 thread). These "Yellow Points" are the industry standard for mold and die handling, offering 360° rotation under full load.

Why Choose a Swivel Point?

1. Dynamic Alignment Unlike a standard shoulder eyebolt, which must be de-rated significantly for angular lifts, a S wivel Lifting Point adjusts to the load. The bail flips and rotates to ensure the stress is always applied in the strongest plane of the hardware.

2. Rotation Under Load If you need to flip a steel plate, position a mold, or orient a pump during installation, the swivel bearing allows the load to rotate without unscrewing the bolt from the workpiece.

3. Material Purity (Cromox) For Food & Beverage or Nuclear applications, rust is not an option. Cromox Grade 60 stainless points are blasted and electropolished to provide a smooth, cleanable surface that resists pitting and bacterial growth.

Technical Specifications

  • Safety Factor : Designed with a 4:1 (Lifting) or 5:1 (depending on model/standard) safety factor.
  • Torque : Proper installation torque is critical. All swivel points must be tightened to the manufacturer's specified torque rating (stamped on the unit or found in the manual) to ensure the thread remains secure during rotation.
  • Thread Types : Available in standard Metric and UNC threads.

Complete Your Assembly

A lifting point is only as good as the hardware attached to it. Pair these swivel points with Cromox Grade 60 Stainless Chain and Stainless Shackles for a complete corrosion-resistant lifting assembly.
