Safety Harnesses

The Full Body Harness is the only part of the fall protection system that you wear. Its job is critical: in the event of a fall, it must distribute the massive impact forces safely across your thighs, pelvis, chest, and shoulders, keeping you upright and secure while awaiting rescue. A harness that doesn't fit or function correctly isn't just uncomfortable, it's dangerous.

Full Body Safety Harnesses

Holloway Houston stocks the Ultra-Safe line of industrial full-body harnesses. Designed for all-day comfort and rigorous safety, these harnesses feature a compliant Dorsal D-Ring (Center Back) design, making them the standard choice for general construction, maintenance, and industrial fall arrest applications.

Product Spotlight: Ultra-Safe 96305N Series

The Ultra-Safe harnesses in our inventory are engineered for simplicity and security.

  • Dorsal D-Ring : The primary attachment point is located in the center of the back (between the shoulder blades). This positioning ensures that if a fall occurs, the worker remains in an upright position, keeping the airway clear and facilitating easier rescue.
  • 5-Point Adjustment : Features adjustable straps at the chest, shoulders, and legs. This allows the user to customize the fit to their specific body shape, preventing the harness from riding up or loosening during movement.
  • Pass-Through Buckles : Simple, secure mating buckles that are easy to inspect and connect, even when wearing gloves.

Sizing Matters

One size does not fit all. A harness that is too loose can cause severe injury (such as "submarining" or groin trauma) when the fall arrest forces are applied. A harness that is too tight restricts blood flow and range of motion.

We stock the full range of sizes to ensure every crew member is protected :

  • Small : For smaller frames or tight-fit requirements.
  • Medium : The standard sizes for most of the workforce.
  • Large : For taller or heavier builds (up to the rated capacity).

Technical Compliance

  • Standard : All Ultra-Safe harnesses meet or exceed ANSI Z359.11 (Safety Requirements for Full Body Harnesses) and OSHA 1926.502 standards.
  • Capacity : Rated for workers with a combined weight (body + tools + clothing) typically up to 310 lbs (ANSI range) or 400+ lbs (OSHA range) depending on the specific model and manufacturer instructions. Always check the tag.
  • Inspection : Every harness features an Impact Indicator. If the stitching on the D-ring pad is ripped or the "Stop" tag is visible, the harness has been involved in a fall and must be destroyed immediately.

Complete Your System

A harness is just the "Body Support." To be safe, you need to connect to an anchor.

  • Connecting Device : Pair this harness with a Red Dragon Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) or a shock-absorbing lanyard.
  • Anchorage : Ensure you are tying off to a certified anchor point capable of supporting 5,000 lbs.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you couldn't find your query please write to us wirerope@hollowayhouston.com

Safety Harnesses are personal protective equipment worn by workers performing tasks at height, distributing fall-arrest forces across the thighs, waist, chest, and shoulders if a fall occurs.
Harnesses are typically sized by chest/waist measurement and weight capacity range - refer to the manufacturer's sizing chart, and confirm all straps can be adjusted to sit snugly without restricting movement.
Full-body harnesses used for fall protection must meet applicable OSHA and ANSI/ASSP requirements for the work being performed. Confirm the specific standard and capacity rating required for your application.
Inspect webbing, stitching, D-rings, and buckles before each use for cuts, fraying, UV damage, or corrosion, in addition to periodic competent-person inspections. Retire immediately after any fall event.
