We offer two primary styles of chain slings:

Standard Chain Slings

These slings feature fixed chain lengths and are available in multiple configurations, including different leg options, chain diameters, and end fittings.

Adjustable Chain Slings

Adjustable slings come with shortener components attached to the master link, allowing the chain leg lengths to be adjusted as needed. These slings maintain their working load limits while providing greater flexibility.

3. Choose Your Leg Option

Chain slings are available in four leg configurations:

Single-Leg

• Ideal for vertical lifting, these versatile slings work at a 90-degree angle and are suitable for securing loads or pulling applications.

Double-Leg

• Designed to maintain balance during lifting, these slings operate at 60, 45, or 30-degree angles. The load capacity varies based on the angle of use and chain size.

Triple-Leg

4. Choose Your Chain Length

Holloway Houston offers a range of chain lengths for both standard and adjustable slings. The length of a chain sling is determined by measuring from the load-bearing point of the master link to the load-bearing point on the opposite end when the sling is fully extended.

Standard slings come with a variety of length options, typically ranging from 3' to 20'.

Adjustable slings, on the other hand, are available in four length options: 5', 10', 15', and 20'. These slings can be adjusted to the required length by using shortening components.

5. Choose Your Chain Diameter

• 1/4”
• 5/16”
• 3/8”
• 1/2”
• 5/8”

Note: Not all slings are available in every diameter.

You’ll want to keep an eye out for chain wear the more you use slings. Even with proper care, chains will eventually begin to wear over time. Make sure you regularly inspect the links for minimum allowable thickness. Once it’s worn below this measurement, you should no longer use the chain.
