The number and spacing of fittings depends on the wire rope diameter and construction. Follow the manufacturer's torque and spacing table exactly — under- or over-tightening both reduce holding strength.
Termination efficiency (the percentage of the wire rope's catalog breaking strength retained after termination) varies by method and rope construction. This should be confirmed against the rope manufacturer's data before the assembly is rated for use.
Inspect before each use for slippage, corrosion, deformed clamps, or broken wires at the termination point, and follow a documented periodic inspection schedule. Retighten to spec if any movement of the rope through the fitting is observed.
